Food We Don't Eat

We generally try to keep our negative opinions to ourselves. However from time to time, a situation comes along that is so out of the ordinary (not in a good way) that it warrants a post. Yesterday, one of those situations presented itself.

This weekend we met up for brunch with friends to celebrate the birthday of a friend of ours. The birthday girl picked Bosco's (after the power went out at her first choice), so downtown we went. We weren't a huge party (there were only six of us), but the restaurant was quite bustling when we got there, so we expected a bit of a wait. Not a problem- we were in no hurry.

Our waitress was friendly but clearly a bit flustered. We placed our orders and waited. And waited. So long, in fact, that between the six of us we had enough time to visit the restroom nine times. And it wasn't because we liked the scent of the hand soap. At one point we looked up to see the party which had been seated right before us (also of six) was leaving. They had ordered, eaten, paid and left before we got our food.

When our food finally did come about an hour after we ordered there was no explanation for it's tardiness. Again the waitress was friendly, but by this point we expected that the kitchen had burned down and the staff had decided to cooly play it off. By the way, when we say "our" food came, we mean four of us received our meals. The other two had to wait an additional 20 minutes while the rest of us awkwardly nibbled at our food, torn between our starvation and our desire to be considerate of the remaining two.

In the end, our meals were comped which was really the least the restaurant could offer.  Acknowledgement from the manager would have been appreciated.  It was, by far, the worst dining experience we've had in Little Rock and we're sorry to say that in the limited experience we've had with this establishment we've come to expect this type of service. We really aren't the types to tattle but as paying customers we can honestly say we won't be taking our money there anymore.
