Short Film Break: BMW Film - The Follow

In 2001 BMW did something that changed the way we look at marketing, social media, and the power of the internet.  The BMW Film Series was at the time one of the most innovative ways for the average person to see short films.  They also introduced Clive Owen to America.  The film series centered around two things:  The various cars BMW had to offer at the time (each film showcased in some way the performance aspect of the different models) and Owen's character "The Driver." Each film had a different director from all around the world.  My (Justin) personal favorite has always been "The Follow" directed by Wong Kar Wai and co-starring Forest Whitaker and Mickey Rourke (it's still one of my all time favorite short films).  It made its debut at the 2001 Cannes Film Festival to rave revues. 1. I just watched Vertigo for the first time last night. This could be the modern day version, with really cool cars. Love it!
