Budget or Binge? :: Wrap Necklace

I'm no meteorologist, but I do know that it's hot out there. I also know most weathermen probably aren't going to tell you to beat the heat by matching it with statement jewelry, but that's my reccomendation. And while my "stay cool by wearing fabulous jewelry" theory is still in the testing phase, it can't hurt to give it a try right? Now the only questions is: to budget or to binge?

Poster for Europa

So about two years ago Mallory and I had the pleasure to co-write the first 3D narrative film shot in Arkansas.  It took about two years of post for the visual effects and it just recently premiered at the Little Rock Film Festival.  This morning the poster made it's public debut and we wanted to share it with you!

Orange Crush

This weekend we checked out Little Rock's first ever hot-air balloon race. We loved the buzz created by the live jazz music, families who came out and squeals of children who got to take a ride in the balloon's baskets. In the evenings, everyone gathered on the golf course mesmerized by the glow of the stationary balloons. I could have sat there and snapped photos all night long!

Teaser Trailer for Strangers

If you haven't noticed the little thing on the left of our page, we're in the process of fundraising for a film called Strangers that is currently in pre-production.  Here's the teaser we've shot that gives you a good idea of what we're going for with it.  Just to note that we'll be shooting the actual film on a RED Epic camera (the same kind used to shoot Prometheus).

Hello Everyone!

We’ve had a great couple of weeks! Europa the 3D film that I wrote with my wife Mallory and Warren starred in had a successful premiere at the Little Rock Film Festival about a week and a half ago! Since then we’ve had many more contributions to our campaign to make Strangers! One of the most exciting things at the Little Rock Film Festival was the number of people who came up to both Warren and me just to talk about Strangers. This is happening people! It’s becoming one of the most talked about short films of the year in Arkansas and we’ve still got over a month left on our campaign!

We couldn’t have done it without our amazing contributors and we appreciate every single one of you. Now we have another favor to ask. Can you share this campaign with your friends on Facebook and Twitter? If we get the word out there even more the closer we will be to hitting our goal. We have an amazing crew lined up and we’re going to be holding some auditions to fill out the rest of our cast very soon. We’re shooting the film on a Red Epic which is the same camera that Ridley Scott used for shooting Prometheus. If you saw that film this weekend then you know how amazing the picture quality can be. We’re very excited to bring this film to everyone and can’t wait for you to see the final product!

Balsamic Strawberry Popsicles

Justin and I decided to test ourselves with a little dietary challenge recently. Being the ice cream/cheese/yogurt enthusiasts that we are, he thought it might be a good idea to cut dairy out of our diet for a couple of weeks to, you know get healthier. Here is what I learned: I will never, ever, ever be a vegan, ever. I also learned that there are healthier, more nutrient-rich methods of satisfying a sweet tooth than dumping ice cream on it ("them" in my case, as I'm certain I've got more than one sweet tooth).

I came across this recipe for homemade balsamic strawberry popsicles and loved that it only used four ingredients, all of which I already had. I also loved that they came out better than anything I could have bought at the grocery store. They had so much flavor from their real ingredients. I subbed out the sugar in the recipe for agave nectar and they came out just fine.

The Little Rock Film Festival opened last week with a bang! Central Arkansas came out in full force to watch America's Parking Lot, "tailgate" and support independent filmmaking. The ensemble I sported last night received some interesting comments, my favorite of which was, "did you pay money for those pants?" But they were light and cool on that 90+ degree day and had just enough of the "pajama" look that's growing in popularity lately.

The best band in Little Rock is back with a several new videos including this 10 minute doozy. "Earth and Sky" and "She's Alright" are both featured in the rocking set shot by Cody Riggan.

#LRFF2012 Wrap-Up

The Little Rock Film Festival was an amazing festival this year, with some of the biggest films from Sundance, SXSW and Tribeca coming here before any other festival like Beasts of the Southern Wild, I Am Not a Hipster, Supporting Characters!  Mallory interviewed many of the filmmakers present and we're going to post them here!  Check it out:
