One of the villains in Christopher Nolan's 3rd Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises, is the character of Bane. In this film he's portrayed by Tom Hardy. Bane's a chemically enhanced genius strong man, who at one point in the comics broke Batman's back. He's one of his most difficult enemies he's ever had to face (He figured out just by watching Bruce Wayne walk that he was Batman).
