In the spring and summer, we generally look forward to the first Thursday of each month. That's because these particular almost-Fridays bring Shop and Sip in Little Rock's Hillcrest neighborhood. It's a monthly event during which all the shops in the neighborhood stay open late, local bands make the streets their temporary stage and you always run into a familiar face or two. I threw on a summer-worthy skirt and skull tee and we spent Cinco de Mayo 2011 wandering up and down the streets and in and out of shops. We finished it off by stopping by the grocery store to pick up a salsa and some cheese-dip-makings for a Mexican mini party.
